I’m Krista Baillie, author of The Time Rangers science fiction series under the pen name K. Pimpinella. I’m also trained as a Story Grid Writing Mentor, specializing in structural story development, genre alignment, and scene-level analysis.

My work combines my experience as a novelist with years of studying narrative structure and helping writers strengthen the foundations of their stories.

I’ve also served as a judge for independent science fiction writing contests, giving me broad exposure to the recurring patterns that shape both successful stories and struggling drafts.

My role as a book coach is not to rewrite your story or impose my voice on your work. Instead, I guide you through the craft decisions that shape plot, character, pacing, and meaning. My feedback is analytical, specific, and collaborative, with the goal of helping you understand why a story choice succeeds or fails—so you can carry that insight forward into future drafts and future projects.

My approach is best suited for writers who want more than surface-level feedback. I focus on:
